We are very fortunate to have such great markets in Stellenbosch each with its own character and flair.
This market takes its inspiration from the Slow Food movement and aims to bring all food sourced, grown, raised, harvested, caught, preserved or transformed by the producers themselves. Its setting is the Oude Libertas, surrounded by vineyards and oak trees, a perfect spot to enjoy the slowness of the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Every Saturday from 09h00-14h00 Rain or Shine
As the name suggests this market is conveniently situated on the Route 44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. This market is all about good, family fun and if you miss it on the Saturday it’s open on the Sunday too. Check out their schedule as there is often live music or special event themed markets.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 10h00-16h00 Rain or Shine
This market is a great alternative for a Friday night out- set indoors at the contemporary Woodmill Center this market offers live music, artisan food, drinks and lifestyle products.
Last Friday night of every month from 17h00-22h00
Set on the historic farm “Blaauwklippen” this market caters well for the whole family. Pony rides, jungle gyms and shaded lawns will keep the children happily busy.
Every Sunday from 10h00-15h00
The only market on this list that is truly a farmer’s market- here you will find a variety of freshly harvested organic and biodynamic produce. Located at the Stellenbosch Waldorf School it’s a little off the main routes, but well worth a visit. Perfect place to fill your shopping basket with your weeks fill of organic produce.
